Wonderful book for learners who are bored of dry textbooks and grammar drills. It’s a charming story which keeps the reader engaged so much that you almost forget it’s a learning exercise. The vocabulary is relevant and natural, and the repeated usage is enough to help the new words stick in the mind without dominating. Highly recommended!

As the language developed there were increasingly more words that I was not familiar with but the vocabulary lists helped me. First I read the book through slowly to get the story and check that the vocabulary level was right for me. Then I read the book again and just enjoyed the story. The language developed well so that I knew I was learning but I wasn’t overwhelmed. I wanted to keep reading and I never put the book aside because I felt I was failing.
